Yale College Trips Puritan Five, 49-47

The Elis Berkeley College recovered from as 11-point deficit to defeat the Winthrop quintet 49-47 in overtime at New Haven, last Saturday and win the annual House-College championship.

The two teams, both intramural league champions, played a fairly even game although Berkeley had a height advantage over the Puritans. The Puritans accurate shooting however, placed them ahead by seven points at the end of the second quarter.

The turning point of the game came after the Puritans had established their 11-point lead, when center Dave Bodiker fouled out of the game, With this advantage the Yale quintet was able to tie Winthrop 47-47, at the end of the regular period of play and an additional basket assured the victory for Berkeley.

Guard George Doyle was high scorer for the game with 12 points, but the scoring was evenly split among the team members,
