Japanese Art Expert Cited Posthumously

Langdon Warner '03, late curator of Oriental Art at the Fogg Art Museum was honored posthumously yesterday by the Japanese government for promoting appreciation of Japanese art throughout the world.

Shigenobu Shima, Minister plenipotentiary and envoy extraordinary of Japan to the United States, presented the Order of the Sacred Treasure to Mrs. Warner. The award was conferred by the Emperor of Japan.

Warner, who died last June, retired from the University in 1950. He joined Fogg in 1923.
