To the Editors of the CRIMSON:

In yesterday's CRIMSON you quoted me as urging all Harvard World Federalists to attend the hearings of the Senate Subcommittee on Disarmament to "cheer for any speaker who expressed world federalists' views." This statement was incorrectly attributed to me. Certainly neither I, nor any responsible federalist, would advocate such tactics. The gravity of the problem which Senator Humphrey is examining merits the most serious consideration, and members of the HWF should and will attend the hearings only with a desire to learn.

Also, I have never stated or implied in any way that Professor Sohn "would express our views." Professor Sohn does not express our views; rather, we are often guided by his views. The ideas found in his talks and writings have had more influence on the beliefs of the Harvard federalists than any other single force. Professor Sohn, as far as we know, is not a member of any federalist organization. . . . Charles B. Smith '58   President, Harvard World Federalists
