The Yardling hockey team scored four goals in the first period but still had a tough time defeating a very strong team from Yale 6 to 3 at the Watson Rink last Saturday.

Despite the four goals against them, the scrappy Elis pressed the Yardling sextet throughout the game, threatening to score at every opportunity. The Crimson was handicapped by the loss of goalie Dick Cleary who suffered a cut over his eye midway through the first period and was forced to leave the game until the final period.

Captain George Higginbottom and Dick Reilly led the way with two goals apiece. Dick Fischer and Dave Vietze accounted for the other two Crimson goals. The defensive play of Dick McLaughlin and Maurice Balboni was also exceptional.
