Dyer Sets Record as Swimmers Overwhelm Cornell Team, 70-16

Captain Chouteau Dyer broke the Harvard pool and College record for the 50-yard freestyle with a 22.3 time Saturday night, as the varsity swimmers trounced Cornell 70 to 16 at the I.A.B.

Dyer's 22.3 clipped a tenth of a second off his old record of 22.4 set last year. Following him was his teammate Roger Clifton. The 200-yard butterfly was won by the Crimson's James Stanley, while Dyer and Lind placed first and second in the 100-yard freestyle.

Hammond won the 200-yard breastroke, while Cornell's McCooley set a new Cornell record of 4:59.9 for the 400-yard freestyle. In the 200-yard breastroke, Stanley won over Falk, and Macky, Clifton, Winthrop, and Michener took the 400-yard freestyle relay.

The Crimson takes on Dartmouth 8:00 Saturday at the I.A.B. The Harvard record is now five wins, no losses.
