Trackmen Face Feeble Terriers In Cage Tonight

Tonight's clask between the red-hot Crimson finderman and Boston University's hopless Terriers poses only two questions: how much Harvard will win by and how coach Bill McCusrdy will shuffle his lineup.

The Crimson, fresh from a startling 75-34 rout of Army can expect competition only in the shot-put, where Terrier ace Tony Farfero will make things rough for Art Croasdale, and in whatever events B.U. captain Ed Tantorski decides to run.

Tantorski holds the Briggs Cage record of 1:13.2 for the 600-yard run. His victory in the 1000 and Furfero's in the shot provided the only bright spots for B.U. when Brown shellacked the Terriers on Dec., 9 by a score of 31-13.

Tantoraki's time for the 1000 was 2:16.9, almost three seconds better than John, Ogden's winning time against the Cadets. Furfero's toss of 54'2" topped Croasdale's performance in the Army meet by a foot and a half.

But Croasdale has thrown over 55' and Ogden developed into a 1:51.7 half-miler last Spring. This Crimson team has no weak spots.

B.U. has one more good middle-distance runner, a senior, Dave and a potential distance threat in its top cross-country runner, Paul Scott. But the Terriors suffer from a great lack of depth and even if all their stars come through, they cannot expect to make things very close.

Last year's meet wound up as a lopsided 80-29 Harvard victory, B.U. scoring its only legitimate triumph with a sweep of the 600. Tantorski set his Cage record in that event.

McCurdy plans to use this meet to try out new men and to give his regulars a chance to switch events. Captain Ed Meehan, who copped the mile in 4:19 against Army, will probably run only the 1000. Meehan holds the University record for that distance and a contest between him and Tantorski might prove the high spot of the meet.

If Tantorski enters the 600, he will run into Harvard's Keith Chiappa, last Saturday's victor at that distance, Chiappa won the Big Three championship last year in 1:12.4
