Firemen Souse Blaze In Dunster Bedroom

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Seven fire trucks were called to put out a fire that gutted a Dunster House bedroom late last night.

The blaze was apparently started by a cigarette left burning in the bedroom. The occupant of the room, Frank O'Toole '66, had left to study in the House library. O'Toole's roommate, Onwechekwa Okigwe '65, was studying in another room when the smell of smoke alerted him to the fire at 11:26 p.m. Okigwe quickly got a fire extinguisher, but professional help was summoned to finish the job.

Hordes of Dunster men looked on as a crew of firemen mounted a ladder and hose to the second floor suite. Smoke billowed from the room. "I hope he doesn't have a girl up there," someone yelled. "It must be pretty hot."

There was no girl in sight, and the fire was quickly extinguished.
