Tocsin Demonstration Planned for Boston; Seven Will Go to N.Y.

Approximately 20 members of Tocsin and a few M.I.T. students today will demonstrate for peace on Boston Common. Seven other members will be at the United Nations Plaza in New York City, where 3000 people are expected to comprise a mass rally.

The purpose of the small Boston demonstration is to express support for the Easter peace marches that will be held in major cities all over the world. While 30 to 50 people carrying signs is admittedly a token gesture, Tocsin members seem to feel that it is beter than nothing.

As one member put it, "We want to join with the thousands of other people who will be expressing their desire for peace and we feel that any action for a lasting peace is helpful and even essential."

The demonstration will be from 2 to 4 p.m., near the Park St. Station. Members of M.I.T.'s Rational Approach to Disarmament have helped in the organization of the rally and students from Boston University and Simmons College have indicated that they may also participate.
