The Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) has secured the assistance of Erik H. Erikson, professor of Human Development, and M. Robert Coles, research psychiatrist to the University Health Services, for its projected program of discussion and study for field workers in the South.
The plan, as described by Howard Zinn, associate professor of government at Boston University and advisor to SNCC, would provide an opportunity for civil rights workers to take time out and discuss the movement's long-term problems.
Zinn said that most of the workers have interrupted their education at some point, and that the plan would attempt to continue their education in a way that neither college nor the field could provide alone.
