The varsity tennis team made it eight in a row Saturday, coasting to a 9-0 win over a surprisingly weak Amherst squad at Amherst.
Two years ago the Crimson barely squeaked out a 5-4 win on the Lord Jeff courts and last year's Amherst team took a few sets from Crimson players although then, too, Harvard scored a shutout. But this time Harvard's top three players gave up a total of three games and the rest won almost as handily.
Frank Ripley breezed to a 6-0, 6-1 win in the top match; Chum Steele, Clive Rileff, Dave Benjamin, Sandy Walker, and Bob Inman took the other matches for Harvard.
