President Johnson has apointed John K. Galbraith, Paul M. Warburg Professor of Economics, and James B. Conant '14 President Emeritus, to the National Advisory Council on the anti-poverty program.

The 14-member committee includes leaders of business, labor, and education. Galbraith described it as a "statutory group advising the President on all aspects of the anti-poverty program."

Provisions for the council were set up under the anti-poverty bill passed by Congress last October. The first meeting is scheduled for next Wednesday.
