Nine Seeks Win Over Princeton Peters to Pitch

Harvard's varsity baseball team will try to bounce back from Wednesday's upset defeat at the hands of M.I.T. when it takes on the streaking Princeton varsity here at 3 p.m. today.

The Tigers, after a lacklustre early season, upset powerful N.Y.U. on Wednesday. The previously undefeated New Yorkers were tagged for ten hits and nine runs while Tiger hurler Steve Cushmore held the Violet to six runs on seven hits.

Harvard was on the other side of an upset on Wednesday. M.I.T. scored three runs in the first inning to clinch a surprising 4-2 victory.

Booming Bats

Crimson bats, which had boomed all over the league last year, have managed scarcely a whimper this season. Only two Harvard starters are batting over .300. The pitching has been generally good, however, and in an attempt to halt the Tigers, Coach Norm Shepard will start ace Ray Peters.

Harvard's record so far stands at 7-6. Princeton's is a dismal 6-11.

Harvard's undefeated freshman nine, boasting 50 runs scored in four games, meets an undefeated Brown team at 1 p.m. here today. It will be the Ivy opener for both teams.
