LIVE UPDATES: Pro-Palestine Protesters Begin Encampment in Harvard Yard
Harvard linebacker Gary Farneti has been named to the honorable mention list of the Associated Press All-American team.
It is the highest post-season honor yet for Farneti, who was recently chosen for the AP All-New England first team. He is sure to be on the All-Ivy team which will be announced in a few days. Farneti, Rick Frisbie, and Gary Singleterry were all selected All-Ivy last year.
While Farneti was the only Harvard player on the All-American honorable mention list, five Dartmouth starters and four from Yale were picked. One of the four Elis was halfback Dick Jauron, who is only a sophomore.
Marinaro All-American
Cornell fullback Ed Marinaro outdid all his Ivy colleagues by earning a spot on the All-American second team. Marinaro was officially named the nation's leading rusher, becoming the first Ivy runner ever to earn the title. Princeton's Hank Bjorklund was third.
The rushing title is now determined by average yardage per game.
