Dartmouth ruined Cornell's hopes for its first undefeated season since 1939, its first unblemished Ivy title in 16 years, and perhaps its chances for its first Heisman trophy winner, with a startlingly easy 24-14 victory over the Big Red Saturday.

In other Ivy action, Columbia's Cardiac Kids took all the fun out of football and won by more than three points for the first time this season when they beat Penn, 17-3. In Palmer Stadium. Princeton succeeded in disappointing its fans with a dull 10-6 loss to Yale.

Cornell still has a shot at its first undisputed Ivy title, for Dartmouth must travel to Princeton this Saturday to finish the season against the Tigers. Cornell, has an easier foe, meeting Penn in Philadelphia.

In Hanover, Dartmouth scored the first time it had the ball, added two quick touchdowns in the second quarter, and held Ed Marinaro to 20 yards on his first ten carries. In the third quarter, Cornell blocked a punt and Marinaro went 35 yards in nine plays for one touchdown, and then the Big Red fullback rambled 46 yards for a touchdown the next time he had the football.

The Indians, however, quickly drove 53 yards in eight plays to clinch their fifth Ivy win in six starts.

Yale topped the Tigers for the fifth consecutive year as Dick Jauron ran 53 yards to set up a field goal and pushed Yale to the eight yard line for its only touchdown Jauron was injured on the last play of the third quarter.
