HUPD Chief Says Harvard Yard Encampment is Peaceful, Defends Students’ Right to Protest
A conference this weekend at the Harkness Commons of the Harvard Graduate Center will highlight a series of meetings and conferences scheduled for October 18-21 sponsored by the National Association for Armenian Studies and Research.
Manoog S. Young, board chairman of the Association, announced yesterday that Robert W. Thomson, professor of Armenian Studies, will chair the weekend conference. The meeting will deal with all aspects of Armenian Studies in over 20 American colleges and universities.
The Association, founded in 1954, was responsible for the endowment of the Armenian Studies Chair at Harvard presently held by Thomson.
The Academic Committee of the Association, under the chairmanship of Richard N. Frye, Aga Kahn Professor of Iranian, is scheduled to review the Association's master plan for academic affairs.
