COLLEGE HOCKEY POLL

For the first time this year, Harvard's hockey team broke into the nation's top ten, placing eighth in the latest major college poll. The Crimson made the poll after reeling off six straight wins since February 4, including victories over third-ranked B.U. and ninth-ranked Cornell.

Michigan Tech, with a 22-6-6 record, continues to lead the poll voted by a panel of ten coaches from the three major college leagues in the country. Radio station WMPL in Hancock, Michigan, conducts the survey.

Despite a recent loss to Providence, New Hampshire remains in second place with a 19-6 slate. Minnesota, after two weekend victories over sagging Notre Dame, moved up from fifth to third this week.

Boston University ranks fourth followed by Denver, Wisconsin, Michigan State and Harvard. Three teams, Cornell, Michigan and St. Louis, are tied for the ninth spot in the poll.
