Although the Afro tenure process seemed to have ended when the Governing Boards gave Eileen Southern, lecturer on Afro-American Studies, tenure effective spring term, the Faculty will continue to look for tenurable scholars for the department.

The Faculty Council subcommittee on Afro tenure is still operative and Dean Rosovsky has said that the Faculty budget could support a total of two more tenured positions in Afro--more than for any other department.

Ephraim Isaac, who was put up before last spring's ad hoc committee on the recommendation of the Afro Department and Dean Rosovsky but did not receive tenure, may be a likely candidate this time around. Though Isaac's contract expired last June, it was recently renewed until June 1976.
