Brandeis Scuffle

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Twenty persons were involved in a scuffle at a Brandeis University lecture last Tuesday after a student reportedly attacked lecturer David Goldman, director of financial intelligence for the U.S. Labor Party.

Witnesses said four students and sixteen party members fought for about five minutes before security guards arrived. No one was seriously hurt, but many received minor injuries, the witness said.

Goldman is co-author of "Dope Incorporated," a recently published book which documents a British intelligence trade conspiracy and which likens major Zionist organizations to the Mafia.

The fighting began during the question and answer session when Adam Arian, a student, approached Goldman and struck him, Goldman said yesterday, adding that the attack was unprovoked.

"Arian marched up to the front and yelled, 'You're a fascist' and threw a punch," he said.

Arian said yesterday he attacked Goldman because he felt menaced by party members surrounding the podium.

Goldman filed assault and battery charges against Arian on Wednesday. Arian and four other students filed countercharges on Friday.

"It was a question of my conscience," Arian said yesterday, adding, "I'm happy I did it."
