The women's volleyball team returned Saturday from a tournament at UMass Amherst without a victory, but with some much-needed experience.

Though they lost to Colgate, 8-15, 15-10, 15-12, and to Springfield College. New Haven, and C.W. Post in straight sets, the spikers' losses did not count as part of their league record, and was the first appearance by many of the players in a big tournament.

Coach Ishan Gurdal was disappointed with his team's showing, but he remarked that the matches provided his charges with the opportunity to play against some teams they will be facing later on in the season. Gurdal added that his young squad" will learn to win by losing a lot." He is confident that the spikers, despite their inability to win a match in Amherst, will be competitive in the Ivies this year.
