B.C. Defeats Maine; Harvard Expected to Face Bowling Green

Boston College won the Hockey East championship last night with a 4-2 win over Maine. As a result of the victory, the Eagles should recieve the first seed in the Eastern bracket of the NCAA tournament and face Minnesota in the quarterfinal round.

Harvard is expected to recieve the number two seed in the East when pairings are announced today. Should this happen, the Crimson will host Bowling Green in the two-game total-goals quarterfinal.

NCAA Western Seeds

1. North Dakota (36-8); 2. Michigan State (30-9-2); 3. Bowling Green (33-8-2); 4. Minnesota (32-12-1).

NCAA Eastern Seeds will be announced this afternoon.

Three Grapplers Named All-Ivy

Three members of the Harvard wrestling team have been named of the 1986-'87 All-Ivy wrestling squad.

Co-Captain Steve Farrell (177 lbs.)--the only Crimson grappler to qualify for NCAA competition--received first-team honors, while junior Peter Holmes (158 lbs.) was selected to the second team and senior Kevin McGinty made the honorable mention list.

The Crimson finished fifth in the Ivy League with a 2-4 Ivy record (10-8 overall).
