HUPD Chief Says Harvard Yard Encampment is Peaceful, Defends Students’ Right to Protest
The Harvard women's basketball team takes the floor tonight for the first time this year when it faces the Irish national team at Briggs Cage.
But although the Crimson has high expectations of contending for the Ivy League championship, don't expect to get much of a read on their prospects tonight.
Harvard Coach Kathy Delaney-Smith won't even be present at the game; Harvard knows very little about its opponent, and although winning would be nice, the Crimson doesn't view victory as essential.
Senior Co-Captain Debbie Flandermeyer summed up the Harvard attitude when she said, "This game should be a chance to get the offense together and to try out some different experiments on offense and defense. Yeah, we'd like to win, but if we don't, it won't be the end of the world."
