The Harvard-Radcliffe College Democrats elected their new executive board for the academic year last night in an election marked by calls for reinvigorating the organization.
Jomo A. Thorne '97 was elected president by the 20 club members present. In his campaign speech, he stressed the need for a larger and more active group. "This group is not as huge as it should be," Thorne said. "We should be the nucleus of the progressive movement at Harvard."
Thorne also said the Democrats should work together with other progressive campus student groups on issues of shared concern. Margeret L. Carter '95-'96 was named vice president, William P. Moynahan treasurer.
