Two cars collided in Harvard Square early this morning, leaving one vehicle resting on the sidewalk in front of the Hong Kong Restaurant on Mass. Ave.
The accident occurred at about 12:30 a.m. when a car traveling in the wrong direction on Mass. Ave struck a vehicle moving in the other direction head-on, according to a Cambridge Police officer on the scene.
Details of the accident were not confirmed and a police report was not available at press time. The officer requested anonymity.
Six people were sent to local hospitals as a result of the wreck, the officer said. Names of the individuals involved and their conditions were not available this morning.
The vehicles involved were a Ford Taurus and a Toyota Camry, both bearing Massachusetts license plates. The Cambridge Fire Department and the Harvard Police also reported to the scene.
