SPORTS BRIEF: M. Tennis Eliminated From Tournament

The Crimson men’s tennis doubles team of sophomore Ashwin Kumar and freshman Sasha Ermakov was eliminated from the NCAA Doubles Tournament on Thursday evening.

Kumar and Ermakov, ranked No. 55, bowed out in the first round of the tournament, which was held at Stanford. They fell to No. 19 duo Pramod Dabir and Ryler DeHeart of Illinois by scores of 6-3 and 7-6 (4).

The loss spelled the end of the season for Kumar and Ermakov, who finished with an overall record of 10-6. They earned first-team All-Ivy League honors and also won the UVA Fall Classic Doubles title.

The men’s tennis team as a whole went 8-12 on the season, including a 4-3 record in the Ivy League.
