CRIMSON COMPETITIONS START

Men from 1918 and 1919 Report Monday at 7 O'clock.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The editorial and news competitions for the CRIMSON will start on Monday evening at 7 o'clock, when all candidates should report at the CRIMSON office, 14-20 Plympton street. The nature of the competitions will then be outlined and the work started at once.

The news competition is open only to Sophomores, no Freshmen being called out until February. The work in this field consists in gathering and writing up news items of interest to members of the University. The competition affords invaluable training in self-expression and also keeps the candidates in close touch with the different sources of University news. There are about six positions on the news board open to members of the Class of 1919, from two to four of which will probably be filled from the present competition.

Editorial Competition for 1918.

The editorial competition, which is open only to Juniors, consists of writing editorials and of gathering data for editorial use. The work is in charge of the editorial chairman, under whose supervision editorial comment will be made upon various topics of College interest.
