SOPHOMORE BALL CLUB.

A MEETING of the Sophomore Class was called on Monday, the 6th inst., to discuss the propriety of keeping up their class nine for the ensuing year. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Weld, and the following officers were elected for the next academic year:-

W. F. Weld, Pres.; J. E. Ware, Treas.; J. K. Berry, Sec., and W. F. Kip and H. C. Ernst as an executive committee. It was voted that the nine be kept up for the purpose of furthering the interests of base ball in the University. N. A. Perry was elected to act as Captain, although his injury will prevent his taking an active part in any of the games. After a vote of thanks for his valuable services had been tendered the last-named gentleman, the meeting was adjourned sine die.

The Nine has beaten two amateur clubs, and all the junior and school or college clubs with which it has played, among which is Yale, not before beaten by Harvard Freshmen for five years. It has been beaten by the Bostons, the King Philips, and the Beacons:
