The appeal of the Longfellow Memorial Association for aid in erecting a suitable memorial to the dead poet in Cambridge, should meet with generous support from Harvard men. It is peculiarly fitting that they should do their full share in promoting the scheme. The memorial proposed is to be erected in Cambridge; the project is backed by the names of many of Harvard's most eminent graduates and professors, and finally Mr. Longfellow was at one time formally connected with the college as a teacher. We have no doubt the appeal will meet with a ready response from Harvard's present undergraduates.
