Chess Club.

At the meeting of the Chess and Whist Club last evening, the executive committee reported that there was a very good prospect of securing for permanent club rooms the old Hasty Pudding building now used by the Conference Francaise. Definite arrangements will be made in a few days, and the next meeting, on Monday night, will probably be held there. The club will not contest in the intercollegiate tournament, which will be held at New York on Thanksgiving day. M. J. Bridge, the winner of last year's tournament at Harvard had been invited to represent the club, but he will be unable to attend, and has been decided ineligible for the tournament as he is no longer connected with the university. The following new members were elected: H. H. Darling, '89; G. Rublee, '90; L. R. Pulsifer, '90; F. P. Cabot, '90; H. O. Poor, '90; S. Van Rensselaer, '91; J. Powers, '91; O. Everett. '91.
