NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A gift of $6,300 has been given to the Harvard Annex, for the establishment of a fund, the income of which is to be devoted to a prize scholarship for the "Harvard examination of women." The gift was made through the medium of the N. Y. Evening Post, but the giver has kept his name a secret. The examinations to the support of which the fund is given, are instituted under the direction of Harvard University, and the young ladies who pass them are given a certificate as a testimony of their ability. This certificate is accepted in place of entrance examinations in the chief colleges for women in this country.
