The announcement of the appointment of Dr. Lyman Abbot as one of the preachers to the university will occasion much pleasure. Dr. Abbot is pastor of Plymouth Church in Brooklyn, and is one of the ablest and most widely known clergymen in the country. He is already well known here as he has preached in Appleton Chapel several times during the past two years. On those occasions his earnest. eloquent words have been most helpful to all whose privilege it was to hear them. He will undoubtedly greatly strengthen the influence of the preachers over the life of the university.
