The success which has crowned the efforts of the German department is the occasion for much congratulation It has been evident for some time that if German were to hold its place among the modern languages at Harvard, something must be done to increase the facilities of the department. Now, however, thanks to the efforts of the committee, and the generosity of several eminent German scholars, the library which has been so long coveted will soon be ready for use.
