‘The Architect of the Whole Plan’: Harvard Law Graduate Ken Chesebro’s Path to Jan. 6
Last evening "The Heir at Law" was given in the series of old comedies. The play is exceedingly amusing and affords great scope for comic acting on the part of the men. Mr. George W. Wilson as Doctor Pangloss, LL. D. and A. S. S. was the funny man and his impersonation of the pedantic old tutor was successful in the extreme. Mr. Wilson keeps the spirit of his part throughout and never, at any moment, fails to make the stage business support his words.
Mr. G. C. Boniface as Daniel Dowlas scored a success. He rendered the part of the tallow chandler become nobleman with spirit. Mr. E. L. Davenport as Dick Dowlas also deserves mention. Mr. Charles Barron did the best he could with the rustic sickly sentiment with which his role was loaded.
The female parts in the comedy are of minor importance, but Miss O'Leary and Miss Addison made the most of theirs. The Heir at Law will be given tonight and tomorrow afternoon and evening. The rest of the week will be devoted to She Stoops to Conquer.
