Intercollegiate chess tournaments by correspondence seem at present rather popular. In addition to the games which are in progress between the chess clubs of Harvard and Yale, there are two games now being played by mail between Yale and Princeton. Yale was the challenger, and Princeton after holding a college tournament to decide upon three men to conduct her moves, accepted the offer and began playing. Already five moves have been made. These are the first games between Yale and Princeton since 1889 when Princeton was the winner.
