Owing to yesterday's wet weather and cloudy skies, the eleven had only about twenty minutes of practice. Most of the time the second eleven had the ball. The defense of the first was very good considering that both Mackie and Acton were laid off, the former on account of the death of a relative, the latter because of a lame back. Wilson and Laimbeer took their places. The first held the ball long enough to make one touchdown, though the sharp work of the second made this not the easiest task in the world. Waters played a while in good form. Gonterman on the second made the best run of the afternoon. Fairchild and Beale played well at quarterback, though at times they fumbled the slippery ball. The practice as a whole was of the usual order, neither better nor worse. Like the Yale eleven, they practice chiefly defense.
