The service in Appleton Chapel tomorrow night will be noteworthy. Catholic priests have before this given lectures before members of the University, and last summer Bishop Keane received a Harvard degree; but not for many years, and, so far as can be ascertained, not since the foundation of the college has a regular religious service of the University been conducted by an ordained Catholic priest. The fact that the Reverend Peter J. O'Callaghan graduated from the college a few years ago will make the occasion still more interesting. A better indication than this of the broad tolerance which Harvard exercises in all matters of belief could not be found.
