Newell has given up coaching the freshman crew temporarily, and is rowing No. 7 in the '94 boat in the place of Atwood. The latter has been moved to No. 3, and Carter to No. 2. The crew has benefitted by the change, although the time is still ragged and the form, generally, is poor. The spacing is good and the men get a fine drive with the legs. The present order is: Bow, Heckscher; 2, Carter; 3, Atwood; 4, Williams; 5, Saltonstall; 6, Wilson; 7, Newell; stroke, Hoag.
In the junior boat, Peabody, No. 4, who stroked the crew before the races, has exchanged seats with Richardson at stroke. Briggs at No. 3 and Poole at No. 5 have also traded places. The crew is rowing in good form, but the stroke is short and snappy, and does not appear to be effective. The order now is: Bow, McGuffie; 2, Lambert; 3, Poole; 4, Richardson; 5, Briggs; 6, Potter; 7, Cameron; stroke, Peabody.
The freshman crew is being coached by Johnson '94 in the absence of Newell. The only change in the make-up was caused by the return of Duffield, who has been laid off on account of sickness. He was put in at No. 3 in Kernan's place.
