Mr. Clemens Herschel, who lectures this evening before the Engineering Society on "Roman Aqueducts," has a wide reputation as an expert in hydraulic engineering. He is a graduate of the Scientific School, and was for some time a member of the Massachusetts State Railroad Commission. Lately he has been the chief engineer of the New Jersey Water Company, and had charge of the water supply of the city of Newark. He is now engaged in private practice in New York, and has been consulting engineer for the Niagara Falls Water Power Co. His lecture this evening will be fully illustrated by lantern slides, and cannot fail to be interesting. It will be open to the public.
