The First Vesper Service.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Dr. Peabody conducted the first Vesper Service of the year in Appleton Chapel yesterday afternoon. The two anthems sung by the choir were "With Faith, O Lord, in Thee" (Garrett), and "The God of Harvest Praise" (Pearce). The solo, sung by E. M. Waterhouse '97, was from Elijah; the music was by Mendelssohn.

The Vesper Services will be short and the choral programme will be similar to yesterday's, throughout the winter. The choir will not begin on Christmas music until the Sunday before Christmas.
