Union Competitive Debate.

Tonight at 7.30, in Sever 11, occurs the second competitive debate for membership in the Harvard Union. The subject is: "Resolved, That the Republican party should not undertake, as part of its programme during the Fifty-fifth Congress, any extension of the protective system."

All members of the University except Freshmen may compete in five minute speeches, and a committee from the Faculty will pass upon the merits of the contestants. The debate will be opened by J. P. Hall, L. S., for the affirmative, and J. P. Warren, Gr., for the negative.
