Lectures Today.

Mr. P. W. Search, of Los Angeles, California, will speak this evening at 7.30 o'clock in Harvard 1, under the auspices of the Harvard Pedagogical Club, on "Foundations in Education." While Superintendent of Schools at Pueblo, Colorado, Mr. Search created much interest in educational circles by his success in organizing and conducting the "Pueblo plan" for primary and secondary education. This plan, which was published in detail in the "Educational Review" for February, 1894, has for its fundamental idea the conservation of the individual in the large classes necessary in our public schools. "The pupil is placed purely with reference to where he can get the most good for himself. He works as an individual, progresses as an individual, is promoted as an individual and graduates as an individual," It hardly needs to be pointed out that this is in direct line with the policy adopted by Harvard University in higher education. The lecture is open to the public.

At 7.30 p. m., in Upper Dane, Professor James will lecture under the auspices of the Graduate Philosophical Club on "The Will to Believe." The lecture will be open to all members of the University.
