S. Pitts Duffield '92, who has been an assistant in English for the past two years, has been appointed a member of the American Embassy in Constantinople.

The pole vault, which was postponed from the 'Varsity games on account of darkness, was held Friday last and resulted as follows: W. W. Hoyt, M. S., first, height 10 feet 6 1-4 in.; A. B. Emmons 2d '98, second, height 10 feet; E. D. Brooks '99 and R. A. Garrison 1900, tied for third, height 9 feet 9 inches. Brooks won the toss.
