Arlington High Defeats '98.

The Juniors gave a miserable exhibition of ball playing at Arlington Saturday, being defeated by the Arlington High School in a game remarkable chiefly for errors and heavy hitting on both sides. The '98 nine was practically without a pitcher. Phillips, Pilling and Bennet were successively tried in the box, but all proved easy marks, though between them they struck out five men.

In the first inning '98 made three runs and Arlington eight. Phillips gave six bases on balls and was hit for two singles and one two bagger. The rest of the game was one-sided and uninteresting. In the sixth H. Wood knocked the ball out of the grounds for a home run.

Of the '98 team, Davis was the only man who played in Friday's game with Yale. The score by innings follows:

Innings, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9

Arlington High, 8 0 5 3 0 5 0 1 x-22

Harvard '98, 3 0 0 2 3 0 0 0 0 -8
