Mr. W. H. Reed '98 and Mr. A. M. Sturtevant have been appointed assistants in German 2 and German C respectively.
Dr. M. M. Skinner '94, Ph.D., '97, who has been studying in Europe for the past two years, has been appointed instructor in German and Semitic.
It is estimated that 8 per cent. of the students of Harvard take ancient languages; 22 per cent. modern languages; 14 per cent. history; 11 per cent. economics; 16 per cent. English; 4 per cent. mathematics; 6 per cent. philosophy; 11 per cent. natural science.
Professor W. M. Davis has just returned from Europe where he has spent his Sabbatical year. During that time he made several geological excursions through France, Norway and Switzerland, and later in the fall he attended the International Geological Conference at Berne.
