In response to the call for candidates for the Sophomores team, only eight men turned out yesterday afternoon for the first day's practice. The work consisted in running and falling on the ball under the direction of R. D. Pruyn '02, and Captain Wendell. As most of last year's team are now playing on the 'Varsity squad, the eleven this year will probably be made up largely of new material. Every '02 man, who is physically able, is urged, therefore, to come out for practice this afternoon.
The following men reported yesterday: W. Cook, J. H. Ellis, A. H. Morse, C. Platt, C. C. Rumsey, R. G. Scott, J. Steadman and H. D. Stickney.
C. Frothingham has been appointed manager of the team.
