Football Practice

The best feature of Yesterday's practice was the line-plunging of the backs. No long runs were made, but steady gains resulted in three touchdowns for the first eleven, and in one field goal from the 20 yard line by Sawin. Fumbling at critical times again marred the play. Early in the practice game, Ellis dropped the ball on the second's 2-yard line, and was at once replaced by Reid.

Daly, Boal and Burnett all came back to practice yesterday, and are much the better for their long rest. The line was much strengthened, and played with some life, effectively holding the second at all times. Ristine played a good game at end, but Hallowell was not up to his regular form.

The work of the team consisted of hard signal practice and the usual line-up against the second. Every effort was made to put dash into the play, and to develop the team work and interference. The results of these efforts appeared in the scoring of the second touchdown by Reid, when all the gains were made by well-executed plays into the line. Hallowell placed his punts better, and Sawin succeeded in kicking an easy goal from the field. Burnett missed two tries for goal from the forty-five and thirty-five yard lines respectively.

The coaches present to help Dibblee were Lewis, Cranston, Mason, Cabot, Waters, Bouve, J. A. Sullivan, Wrenn, Holden, Wrightington, Hallowell, Hayes and Thatcher. The line-up follows: First  Second Ristine, l.e.  r.e., Hoxie. Donald, l.t.  r.t., Peyton. Boal, A. R. Sargent, l.g.  r.g., Wheeler, Lee. Burnett, C. Sargent, c.  c., Greene, Kasson.
