The graded eights at both the Weld and Newell clubs will be formed this afternoon. All men belonging to the clubs are urged to come out as candidates. The race will be rowed sometime before the Yale game. After these crews have been selected, scrub crews will be formed at both clubs from the remaining men. These scrub crews will race during the first week in November as will also single shells and wherries. The single race will be for the Royal Phelps Carroll Cup, the winner to hold the trophy for the ensuing year. Cups will be given to all winners. Each boat house is well supplied with the necessary apparatus for many candidates. H. Vail, the Newell club coach, has arrived and is now coaching.
