The matches played yesterday in the first round of the University golf tournament resulted as follows: P. A. Proal '05 beat C. R. Wait '03, 6 up and 5 to play; J. G. Averell 3G. beat E. Bell, Jr., '04, 5 up and 3 to play; H. H. Berry '04 beat C. J. Hambleton '04, 2 up and 1 to play; A. P. Thornton '03 beat H. D. Grinnell '03, 8 up and 7 to play; M. Tilden '05 beat K. Smith '05, 2 up; H. Burnet '05 beat H. R. Sedgwick sS., 2 up; W. P. Sayre '05 beat R. Rivers '04, 6 up and 5 to play; R. Wallace '05, beat H. C. Ingram '04, 9 up and 7 to play.
The following matches are to be played today: L. V. Pulsiver vs. U. A. Murdock, Jr., B. Tower vs. winner of Lapham-Beeman match, M. Tilden vs. A. P. Thornton.
Newton cars are scheduled to leave the square at 1.28, 1.36 and 1.43. The 1.28 car connects with the 1.52 car for Newton and the 1.36 and the 1.43 cars with the 2.07 car.
The results of the matches should be recorded without fail at the CRIMSON office before 7.30 on the day of play. No postponement will be allowed except on account of bad weather.
