The following is the cast of the one-act farce, entitled "Kapitulirt," by Hans von Reinfels, which will be presented by the Deutscher Verein on May 14 in Brattle Hall:
Steffen, a major on half-pay, W. A. Sawyer '02.
Illy Sedania, his daughter, W. H. Chase '04.
Peters, a landed proprietor, P. B. Robinson '03.
Lieschen, his daughter, F. Watson '02.
Julius Neumann, sergeant, L. G. Brooks '02.
Viktor von Sommer, volunteer in the army, A. W. Weil '02.
The play takes place in Von Sommer's apartments in a small garrison town. Von Sommer and Illy are in love, a matter of which Steffen knows nothing. Neumann and Lieschen are also in love with each other, but the latter's father, Peters, has objected to the match for a long while; finally, however, he sends Neumann a letter, in which he signifies his intention of visiting him. Neumann, who lives in the barracks, asks Von Sommer to lend him his rooms to receive Peters. The request is granted, and this leads to many complications, in which both young men are accused of being faithless. Finally the matter is cleared up, and all become reconciled to each other.
In addition to "Kapitulirt," a short farce by Hans von Reinfels, entitled Essbouquet," will be presented on May 14. The cast has not yet been made up.
