To the Editors of the Crimson:

There has been cited an alleged unfairness of the Board of Directors of the Co-operative Society towards a so-called minority report and it may be well to state the majority's view of the case.

The Board was instructed by the last annual meeting of the Society to prepare and submit a plan of reorganization and incorporation which, it was expressly stated, should not give members "power of direct management of the affairs of the Company." The retention of such power for the members was understood to be the main purpose of the minority member. Such plans were clearly out of order, and were so ruled at a meeting of all the members of the Board without a word of dissent being expressed. There being no minority report there was nothing to publish but the plan prepared by the Board in obedience to instructions, together with a few memoranda of the conditions which led to the vote of the annual meeting.

There was certainly no intent on anyone's part to be unfair and we are glad to believe that no suppression of debate has resulted.

In order to aid members in obtaining facts for use in continuing the discussion, the President will be at the office of the Society today from 4.30 till 5.30, and at other hours which will be announced later. L.J. JOHNSON, President.
