Sixty men competed in the trial. The speaking was not up to the usual standard, as the speakers tended to rely too much on the simple reading of evidence without clearly indicating its value and bearing.

The second trial will be held on Friday evening, October 30, at 7.30 o'clock, in the Fogg Lecture Room. Ten minute speeches will be made and six men retained. The order of speakers is posted in Gore Hall.
